Changing translucency for Texture with A-Channel

Hi there! I''ve got another question: How can I change the translucency, when drawing a quad with a TGA (AlphaChannel) on it? I tried to use glColor4f( 1.0, 1.0, 1.0, 0.3f );, but that didn''t help. Or is there no way to do this????? Thanks, VK

disable lighting
enable blending with src_alpha. 1-src_alpha

Why disable lighting? What if you want the quads to be affected by lighting, aswell as being transparent?
