Can i use NV OpenGL Extensions with other boards that support opengl 1.3? In particular the var extension, if not, how to optimise arrays to a var clone? "Follow the white rabbit."

With very few exceptions, vendor-specific extensions are only supported on that vendor''s cards. Often, other vendors will provide similar extensions, though. I know that ATI has something very similar to the VAR extension, but offhand, I don''t remember what it''s called (and I don''t really feel like looking it up at the moment ).

The radeon 8500 supports all of one nvidia extension:

http://www.ati.com/developer/sdk/RadeonSDK/Html/Info/Prog3D.html

So you have to rewrite it the ATI way for Radeons. Good luck if you don''t have a computer with the card. Welcome to extension hell.
