D3DCAPS8 is giving me wrong info about my hardware... i initialize it right. then it tells me that the hardware supports T&L, so i use hardware vertex processing. it also tells me that its a pure. and this is definetly not a pure device. is there a specific time you have to call it or something. because i call getDeviceCaps right after creating the direct3D interface thanks a bunch for any help

The pure cap means the driver can optionally be used in pure mode. All asking for pure device does is turns off any D3D emulation.

For example a GeForce2 can be pure, but wouldn''t be able to do shaders since the D3D emulation of them is disabled.

ok thanks . i didnt know that. but then if caps.devCaps & (T&LFLAG_HERE) is true dosnt that mean that i can use hrdware vertex processing? because my card does NOT support that but d3dcaps returns true for it....
