Hey hey people, I''ve just finished a degree in Computing and I''m looking for a little feedback on one of my pieces of work. For my final year project I decided to teach myself Java game development and see what I could produce. My aim was to teach myself something about the language and something about problem solving within game development. Well, a year later and I had produced my first game ever. I''m extremely pleased with the results and I''m hoping it will provide me with a decent result. However, I''m well aware that my cack-handed way of solving problems has lead to, what are no doubt, ill conceived techniques. As a result I''m left with many questions regarding my implementation of certain areas and would love some advice regarding bits where I''ve gone wrong. I would be hugely grateful for any responses about the actual coding techniques as opposed to the gameplay. Like I said I was teaching myself as I went along so I would love to know where I was getting things right and where I was way off the mark. Obviously I''m asking quite a lot of you, reading through all the code is a bit much, but any response to a any portion of it would be hugely appreciated. I believe in a little give and take so I will make things worth your while. All the source is downloadable so feel free to use absolutely any of it in your own projects. Thats right, you can take any parts you like and you won''t have to credit me. Just be aware that I didn''t have a clue as I was making this so it could be poorly written, innefficient, useless, dirty code. Your call. http://www.geocities.com/m_wherrett (dirty geocities, gah!) go to portfolio then java game I look forward to people slating my code and thankyou in advance. Mark Wherrett

When I click Portfolio, it says the page doesn''t exist. Geocities seems to have a habit of randomly deleting your stuff, maybe that''s it.

I''ve just checked it and it seems to be fine.
However seeing as it''s dirty geocities it has probably gone all bent.

This will take you directly to the page...

and this will take you to the source in a zip file...

thats assuming they will work. (I really should pay some money for decent web space.)
