I used to play wav files using DirectSound, but in DirectX81, DirectSound seems to be less useful in loading and playing wav files. Instead, the SDK suggests using DirectMusic (integrated, and the tutorials are written for DirectMusic). I just want to know if DirectSoundBuffer is the same as DirectMusicSegment? Previously, if you have 2 wav files, you''ll load them to different DirectSoundBuffer (where each file is loaded to each buffer), and when you want to play one of them, you use the buffer. Is the same techinque still applies for DirectMusic (in DX81) where the substitute for the DirectSoundBuffer is the DirectMusicSegment? Please somebody help me. I''ve searched through the Internet, but couldn''t find something useful. They''re all old (dx7, dx5, dx6).
