Vertex Weighting and the Netimmerse engine

Hey all... I was woundering if anyone could point me in the right direction in terms of vertex weighting... I''ve been using MAX for a fair amount of time now and have just started messing around with the netimmerse engine, using the editor that comes with The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. I have worked out that each part of the body is made up of seperate models, but I have hit a brick wall when it comes to adding deforming objects like robes or skirts that wrap around the legs when walking... Thanks for your time.... and sorry if I''m not making much sense.. I am slightly out of my depth
