Hello, Is it wise to use color palettes in order to load textures in openGL ? I have a BMP file with 8bits\pixel. In order to control brightness and contrast I thought about color palettes. Instead I can load the texture and use openGL routines for controlling brightness and contrast. Can you advise ? Thanks, Zvika Vered.

not really

especially the nvidia cards do not support it anymore

brightness can be easily controlled via glColor

hope that helped
