out of all the virtual systems on a computer, virtual machines, virtual memory, virtual resources, etc. is there such a thing a virtual user? like a program that emulates user actions by navigating a gui and using other applications through the user interface. are they possible? do they exist? (im talking about a win32 platform)

there are definitely tons for running a web browser. they are test tools for websites to use. you can run through a user flow in the application manually and then it captures what you do and plays it back so that next time you want to "test the cart" you just run the "test the cart" script instead of having to go through the cart manually.

one is mercury, i think. search for automated browser test tools.
