  1. Quote:Original post by JBourrie If you yell at her for being a fatty, instead of yelling at her for cutting you off in traffic, you are discriminating on the basis of being fat. I'll agree with that, but I wouldn't say that calling one person who pissed me off at a particular moment fat means that I tend to always discriminate against fat people.
  2. Quote:Original post by LessBread Nonsense. Those comedians are acting. The video of Richard's explosion reveals that at first the audience thought he was acting too. It was only after it became clear that he wasn't that people stopped laughing and left the room. I mean completely neglecting Richards here. What I mean is that you are implying that it's -always- impossible to say something negative without subscribing to the negative belief. The comedians on Def Comedy Jam would say otherwise, as would I.
  3. Quote:Original post by davobrosia Not that it matters, because your analogy is invalid. How is it invalid? I'd say it describes very nearly exactly one side of the arguments presented here. Quote:Original post by LessBread Yeah, pretty much. It means that you think she's inferior to you because she's fat and by extension that you think that all fat chicks are inferior to you because they're fat. I'd call that projection. That may be what you'd think before you said something like it, but you can't presume that everyone might think that were they to. Quote:Original post by JBourrie somewhere, deep down (or not so deep), you have tendencies to discriminate against fat people This, too, is debatable. You guys seem to imply that every comedian on Def Comedy Jam, including the white ones, hate all white people.
  4. If some fat chick pisses you off and you call her fat, does that mean you hate all fat chicks?
  5. Hey folks, I'm goofing around w/ collada and 3ds max atm, but I'm having some trouble interpreting some of the data exported. I was wondering if someone here could explain a little of it to me, particularly w/ finding the pivot point. I generate a biped skeleton (no mesh), put it in the base pose, and export it via ColladaMax. Here is a snip of some of the data it exports: <node id="Bip01-node" name="Bip01" sid="Bip01-node" type="JOINT"> <matrix>0.000001 1.000000 0 0 -1.000000 0.000001 0 0 0 0 1.000000 0.542000 0 0 0 1.000000</matrix> <node id="Bip01-node_PIVOT" name="Bip01_PIVOT" type="NODE"> <matrix>0.002427 0 0 0 0 0.002427 0 0 0 0 0.002427 0 0 0 0 1.000000</matrix> </node> <node id="Bip01_Pelvis-node" name="Bip01_Pelvis" sid="Bip01_Pelvis-node" type="JOINT"> <matrix>0 1.000000 -0.000001 0 -0.000001 0.000001 1.000000 0 1.000000 0 0.000001 0 0 0 0 1.000000</matrix> <node id="Bip01_Pelvis-node_PIVOT" name="Bip01_Pelvis_PIVOT" type="NODE"> <matrix>0.121359 0 0 0 0 0.121359 0 0 0 0 0.097087 0 0 0 0 1.000000</matrix> </node> How do you find the pivot point? Is it the translation portion of the main bone node's matrix? If so, then what are the pivot nodes for? The matrices for these pivot nodes are scaling matrices, not translations. Is maybe the translation portion of the main bone node's matrix scaled by the pivot node's matrix? There are lots of permutations. I figured I'd ask around first.

    Don't support the troops.

Quote:Original post by LessBread Is it peripheral? I said that sometimes soldiers are out there murdering civilians, not that it was the norm. Unfortunately, Haditha isn't the only incident. There are others: Iraqi police report details civilians' deaths at hands of U.S. troops. The OP's intent and much of the sentiment of this thread is not to support troops in any way, 100% of the time. 100% of the time is not spent killing civilians. You are citing niche examples. They are irrelevant. "You folks act like they're out murdering civilians." "Sometimes they are. Google on "Haditha"." How exactly is this relevant to the OP's topic? So, 0.00001% of all soldiers are murderous and thus criminal. I agree, do not support these, but how does this affect the 99.99999% of all other troops that the OP says we shouldn't support?

    Don't support the troops.

That's peripheral, and certainly not the norm. An isolated incident like that by a couple of bad seeds has no bearing on this discussion.
  8. Succinct

    Don't support the troops.

I doubt the OP was talking about Haditha.
  9. Succinct

    Don't support the troops.

You folks act like they're out murdering civilians. The only people they deliberately kill are other soldiers, who signed up to kill for their country in exactly the same way. Soldiers killing soldiers does not a war crime make - it makes a war.

    Desktop Screenshots! =)

Widescreen and jackson guitars. How can you go wrong? With the taskbar on the right, you see more lines of code. [Edited by - Run_The_Shadows on April 8, 2006 5:46:38 PM]

Yes, by "send" I meant properly submit. This is good news, as, from my perspective, the game dev is the easy part. Obscure, do you have contacts w/ the smaller publishing houses?

What if you just send Activision a 100% complete AA game?

    Headhunted by Microsoft.....

My boss and myself at my old job were headhunted just like this. He was first and was offered about a $140k/year position working on virtual machines. I was interviewing for a similar position but turned it down before negotiations. Microsoft is hiring a metric assload of people, this much I know.
