    MO non-browser based game

    Perhaps you could render the videos after the characters have been selected/customized? The animators should animate bones and the game attaches a skin/character to the bones.

    How could I suggest a project without knowing what the requirements are? When you ask a question like this you won't get any good answers. 1. Why are you doing this project? 2. How much time is available? 3. Why do you need us to make suggestions, why can't you think of something yourself? Extra suggestion: read all the replies you got in this thread. Most of them are trying to guide you into asking the correct questions in a correct manner. Have you ever read this (and the entire site)? If not do so.

    An app that removes double exclamationmarks? Seriously: The app you envisioned is still useful but not for tracking your mobile but for tracking your friends/socialgroup. The WP7 allows you to access your friends on Windows Live so you could make a tracker that keeps track of all your friends or a selection that run the app.

    How is C# and best book for learning it?

    I used the C# Language Specification to learn the language. But a book such as "Professional C#" (Wrox) is fine. Make sure you get the edition that fits your needs.

    How is C# and best book for learning it?

    The 'best' book doesn't exist. Perhaps the 'best book for you' does. What do you know? Do you know how to program? If so, what language(s) do you know?
  6. Please change your source tags, I can't read the code this way.

    Again: listen to the posters in this thread, stop shouting and start answering questions. Really, clean up your language, this is no way of getting valuable responses. These people are in no way deserving to be shouted at or 'forced' to answer. Behave. 1. What would happen if ALL applications were able to silently enable or disable transmitting location information? I'll give you some hints: massive bills on data communication, privacy violations, ... 2. You can still make the application but it would be very much like the Google Latitude => optional. Leave mobile theft protection to the telco providers.

    1. Yes you can. I guess you already downloaded the relevant tools? Get the free book too (See Chapter 5!) and have a look at this for simulation geolocations on the emulator. 2. Random advise: pick one language (C#) and learn it very well. 3. With these tools you can hardly/not target Android 4. Easy project to be honest; Microsoft gives you all the tools.

    You have to be more specific: 1. What is confusing? 2. What knowledge/skills do you have? 3. What tools are you using? 4. How did you get this assignment if you don't even know how to start? surely you are not entirely clueless? Please stop shouting and start answering our questions.
  10. The binding depends on your security, reliability, ... requirements and what bindings are supported by the clients. (E.g., Silverlight 3 does not support wsHTTP) Concurrency depends on 'how threadsafe your service is'. If you are really going to service ALL client requests on the same instance it better be VERY threadsafe.

    When asking for help it is better to show us what you have done/tried so far. We also need to know what you DO know. Asking for 'all the steps' is not specific enough; my bet is that you would not be happy with: "1. write it. 2. Test it. 3. Deploy it." Also: you mention that you are targeting both WP7 and Android: it is pretty hard to write someting that will run on both of these platforms.
  12. Quote:Original post by ranakor Quote:Original post by ernow WPF (and Silverlight) apps easily become multi-threaded because it is nice to hardly ever block the UI and a quick way of doing that is using a backgroundworker, an Async method or a delegate. These methods all use extra/other threads without you creating explicitly a thread. Async != Multithread Many Async methods spawn or use other threads. Callbacks passed to an async method might be called on this other thread. This is up to the implementor of the Async method.

  14. This step (var propertChanged = PropertyChanged;) makes a private COPY of the event's invokationlist thereby making it impossible for other threads to empty the list in between the test and the raising of the events as can happen with these two lines: if (PropertyChanged != null) { PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(name));
  15. Could you show us the code of the BindingList? Also look at this example
