Hello gamedev community! I've lurked forever, posted a job post 6+ months ago, and after filling that position figured I should see if anyone's interested in how our non-bullethell horizontally sidescrolling shoot 'em up is turning out. We still are hard at work but our team wanted to share what we've been up to with you guys.

Our game is called "Heaven Variant" it's a side-scrolling shooter, aiming to embrace the visual and audio aesthetics from the late 1980s and early 90s hopefully while offering a modern take on the whole shebang. Instead of talking a lot, here's some of our latest media. I hope you'll let us know what you think. Our team is made up of 3 people and we're developing it with the Unreal Development Kit.

Heaven Variant is fashioned after old school shmups, and we really want to have a nostalgic aesthetic that pushes our style.
