    Parser c++ and .obj

    Hee people, I need to somehow implement 3ds max models into opengl and some people strongly adviced me to make use of wavefront .obj files. Then I was told to write a parser. My question is fairly simple, how do you write a parser and can this be achieved with c++. I must admit that I am new to c++ and am still learning, but I need to explore the possiblities before going on. When I know c++ will I be able to write a parser or are there still other things that i need to learn. I saw that there are not may tutorials and stuff like that on writing one, so that's why I am asking. Thanks a lot for your help!

    @AndyEsser, I read your comment too late, I see. Using the importer It is easy to use it in opengl (I assume).

    3ds Max does indeed export to .obj files. Is writing a loader very difficult and what does it require?

    I know 3ds max can export to several different formats, but how are these to be used with opengl? I don't think opengl can open any of these files (or can it?). That's why I was wondering what the use of maxscript was in all of this.

We need to make a 3d model of our school and decided to make use of opengl and 3ds max. But is it possible to use 3ds max models in opengl? Can it be done with the help of Maxscript, in that case I am prepared to learn maxscript. How do professional game developers do that? I know this question has been asked in previous topics, but these are all outdated and the answers are not very straight to the point. That's why I am asking again. Thanks for your help.
