how to advertise a new game

Good idea Lazy! No the game is not finished, or started for that matter. And that is precisely the kind of thing I don't want to miss. I have a blog set up but wasn't sure it would be very effective. Now I will reconsider that. Thanks very much.

how to advertise a new game

I have other ideas as well but because I am unfamiliar with this exact concept I fear I might miss some excellent opportunities that might be common place in the gaming world.

how to advertise a new game

I have quite a few. I've written some articles to submit to relevant publications, I've accumulated over 500 websites that are game forum/chat room related to post on, I am building a website that will use link referrals and traffic exchange programs, I have started a blog, made but not posted youtube vids, I have a list of free advetising websites, facebook and I am considering experimenting with a text advertising service.
  6. Im putting together my marketing plan for smart phone games and im hoping for a little help with ideas. I will have a pretty small budget of about 10k. Thanks in advance.

    patent question

Thanks very much. If Im understanding what I read, I have to go through a process with the game developer in order to get a copyright. Is that correct?

    Who should I hire?

What skills do you have yourself ? Mobile games tend to be reasonably small, low budget productions and in many cases a single programmer will be everything you need, Everything else depends on the game(s) you're making. For a game like WordFeud for example a single programmer is all you need while a game like Angry Birds would require an artist and level designer aswell. (Level design could possibly be handled by the programmer and/or artist but since it is such a key aspect of the game i would personally hire an experienced designer for it if i could afford to do so) [/quote] I have no computer programming skills. I have an extensive background in business and marketing. Im also a writer, painter, sculpture etc....

    patent question

Is it necessary to patten an application or game idea for smartphones? If so, when in the process should that be done? Thanks in advance.

    Who should I hire?

Thanks for the responses. 6 to 30 times!!!!! Wow. I have no problem sharing he profits. That was and has always been part if my business models. Im just sort of a fish out of water with this one. I don't know square one about programming. In fact, my business is not necessarily about games/apps. Im just hoping to use it as an outlet to generate income to fund the "mother" business. But because the "mother" business will have need for skilled computer persons, Im thinking, why not just bring them in now, pay them hourly and give them a share of the profits.

    need advice

I have some good ideas for mobile phone apps/games but was surprised to find out it costs 50k + to have one developed. Bummer. So I might try to put together my own company and hire programmers and such. My question is this. Who do I need to hire to develop my game ideas for smart phones? (Ex. Programmer, designer, etc..) thanks for your time.
