Okay, I am looking at ASUS. Now, I would like a book. Does "Invent Your Own Computers Games with Python '2nd Edition' " sound good? Yeah I think it's good. Although I just got some bad news. I can't access the download site for Python 3.1 here. Damn it all.

Well, I don't want a top of a line model, at least not before I go to college. Also, I don't mind carrying around something chunky as long as it gets the job done. Light and thin is not my preference.

Okay, I have come up against a problem. I should explain a bit - I am usually moving around as I am abroad and I only have access to computers with barely adequate specs. Is there a lap-top I could buy that would fit well for a wannabe Game Developer?

I will just use all the references in this thread and just see where I end. I will post whatever I have anywhere between a month to 13 years.

Id be more then happy to teach anyone C++, if you are interested send me a message at ghostxop @yahoo.com. You just have to be dedicated to learning it, and id be more then happy to take 2 hours out of every day to teach you it. C++ to me is a very common language, ofcourse i could be wrong but when you look at tutorials for ogre and irrlicht, they are in C++. (mainly that is) If your in it just to make a game, and not interested in how it works, and not have a passion and interest for programming. Then dont bother to message me, ud just be wasting my time. To me, i believe the fun part, is the programming. This goes for anyone else interested. I like spreading my C++ religion.
I will hit you up on that in a few months.

Ah, I'll play with Java and/or Python. Then truly go through C#, C++. How does that sound? Sounds good, right? Nah, I'm very skeptical and paranoid person.

Okay, metaphorically speaking, I'm going to bathe in C#, Python and Java and find which one appeals to me more and work had on that language. Thanks. I'll post again later if (when) I need more help on something I am stuck on.

Yeah, I've tried getting into Javascript before, to try and improve my skills in website developmtn. (Which isn't that good to start with) But I can't find a decent tutorial, or I am just stuck with learning Javascript. I will look at what you recommended. Thanks.

I am only as far as Algebra 1 and Geometry. I might need a crash course for them but is that good enough?

Yeah, that's kind of what I meant, spending time with one language then moving onto the next one when I feel I'm ready. So, is there a goal I should reach? Like a language that I should one day learn after I have a firm or even basic understanding of a few such as Java, Python, etc.? Right now all I can say is that I will do my best and then some. This is most likely the best forum I've ever been to.

Sounds great to me. C#, Python and Java will be on my "To-Do" list. I'll post again if I need any more help. Thanks again. On a side note, I've been stressing on what college. I should mention that I am out of High School, abroad and have been searching for a while for a decent school. I've been to West-wood Uni. (IF it is a Uni) in Anaheim, I've spoken to VFS (Vancouver Film School) in Canada and looking at Full Sail. Or am I thinking too far ahead. Regardless, you've all been of great help.
