"CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:13 (find_package): By not providing "FindDirectX.cmake" in CMAKE_MODULE_PATH this project has asked CMake to find a package configuration file provided by "DirectX", but CMake did not find one. Could not find a package configuration file provided by "DirectX" with any of the following names: DirectXConfig.cmake directx-config.cmake Add the installation prefix of "DirectX" to CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH or set "DirectX_DIR" to a directory containing one of the above files. If "DirectX" provides a separate development package or SDK, be sure it has been installed. Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!" What should I do?
  4. Its saying install FreeType, how do I do that?
  5. Also I've tried many generators such as VS and makefiles but none of them work.
  6. Im struggling to build Ogre 3D. I made a Folder called Ogre 3D sources in the VS SDK folder. The ogre folder includes ogre_src_v1-8-1, freetype-2.4.10 and cmake-2.8.9-win32-x86 also a empty folder called Build Dir. I opened cmake - gui and put this for source code: C:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010)/Ogre3D Source/ogre_src_v1-8-1 and put the empty folder Build Dir for where to build binaries. When I configure and generate, there is only errors. Any help?

  8. I was about to download the Ogre 3D SDK, then I saw it was all 32 bit. Is there a SDK that is 64 bit? If not please inform me of a 64 bit rendering engine that has good physics and graphics also you can use C++ for it. Thanks

  10. Currently, I am thinking of making/modifying a game engine using C++, DirectX, Ogre3D and Impulse-based dynamic simulation(physics sdk not sure to use). Well I'm on the road to making a wrestling game so I'm trying to get prepared. I have a problem which is I'm not sure which physics engine to use.
  11. Would it be better to modify an engine or leave the engine how it is?

[/quote] You mean YOU don't use it? It's among the most used 3D modellers. [/quote] He is talking about the blender game engine, not the 3D modeller. Blender has a built in game engine aswell, but it is a fairly new addition to the package and hasn't been used that much (yet), from what i can tell it is fairly capable though. [/quote] Yes I was talking about Blenders game engine. The 3D modelling in Blender is amazing.
  13. I've used all 3. Game Maker is mainly used for 2D games. Its easy to use. Blender is more of a FREE 3D modelling and animation suite. You can build many things in Blender like a human body also rigging it and texturing it will successfully bring the human body to life. I don't know much about Blender's game engine but people don't really use it. Unity is a free engine that requires you to learn a language such as Javascript, C++(pro version), C# etc. What do you want to be in game development? Game programmer, designer, artist and animator etc. Lastly what type of game would you like to make in the future? The floor is yours.

  15. Currently, I'm using Blender and Unity. What language do you reckon I should use for Unity? C++, Javascript or C# maybe?
