1. just looking for some feedback on this games vid:   Video: http://youtu.be/Tw2AV1NWA0U
2. Ant Farms Gold Beta 1: Video: http://youtu.be/Tw2AV1NWA0U Discussion: After a year of development we finally got this project to the final beta stages. Looking back on this project, I think the hardest part was on Davids (artist) part learning how to draw a new cartoon style. I remember watching him practice the new style for hours on skype and discussing it as he drew the line art. However the project has been a huge learning curve for both of us and we had a lot of fun making it. We plan on adding a MySQL chat system as well and we have removed the old php web chat system. We also need to make more enemies for the next beta releases but the projects progress has been pretty smooth for an indie 2d game. Of course this also raises the question of when will Ant Farms 2 be completed? Which as many know that project has been in production for almost two years. Well the problem with Ant Farms 2 is currently Kevin (artist), he started a small clothing shop in his spare time that grew over night into a huge success. So we are waiting on him to get some time to start making the animations for the battle menu. Will Ant Farms 2 ever be completed? Well we don’t know but I’d like to think so. Anyway, Ant Farms Gold beta has now been launched and if you would like to get your free copy + key, please email us at uokgamesATgmailDOTcom. Thank you.

8. Did a little tweaking to the Ant Farms storyline enjoy:   Storyline:   A bulldozer rolls through the jungle forcing you and your ant colony to migrate deeper into the jungle. One day as your searching for food and water, you come across a very odd pool of water which appears to be almost magically producing life naturally. You drink from the pool of water and begin to bring water back to the colony for everyone to drink from it. The more your colony begins to drink from the pool, the more intelligent the colony becomes and begins to become more aware of their surroundings. Eventually the entire colony is transformed into a super intelligent race of ants.   One day, as the sun rises, you hear a loud noise you remember hearing before, but did not fully understand what it was before, roaring through the jungle. You hear loud thumps echoing through the jungle and you can see trees being knocked down in the distance. You decide to investigate the noise and bring a few scouts a long with you. You see a large group of giants riding giant steel machines knocking over the trees. You attempt to make first contact and ask them to stop but they swat at you and try to attack you. You and your scouts run back to the colony to warn the others.  Later on you are greeted by the fairies that tell you about the evil humans and their terrible way of life.      The fairies tell them they are a large group of evil people who do not work together for the greater good of their colony, but instead they live for their individual selfish needs and destroy everything they come in contact with including jungles. They harvest the jungle and use it to build massive tree homes on the ground in what they call a city. The city is filled with pollution, loud noises and dangerous creatures. The fairies warn us that we must never make contact with them and avoid them for our own safety.     One day while searching for food, a human approaches the colony and begins to set the ant farm on fire using a giant magnifying glass. The flames roared through the colony killing thousands of innocent ants whom did not provoke the attack. Once the fires where put out, I found my wife in the ash. She did not make it out in time. As I dug deeper in the ash, I found the queen barely hanging on to life, with her last breath of air, she told me to manage the colony and protect us at all cost. From that day forward, we vowed to honor our Queens request and will defeat the evil humans at all costs.

10. Having what seems like major issues with IIS. Simply trying to build a simple ASP based website using IIS. I have a WAMP based web site currently on my other server but Im a VB developer and ASP is a better way for me. Anyway, I had it working ish, when I visited Localhost it was working but today I watched a bad tut that told me how to setup the website incorrectly so I removed a lot things and it stopped working. So I reinstalled IIS and local host is not working at all any more. When I visit my ASPX site, it gives me this error: HTTP Error 404.3 - Not Found The page you are requesting cannot be served because of the extension configuration. If the page is a script, add a handler. If the file should be downloaded, add a MIME map. The only thing I can think of to resolve the issue at this point is just format and reinstall everything from a clean install of windows 7 ultimate. So I guess the question is, is my problem a easy fix or would be best to start fresh as this point? Not a issue to format just time consuming. Thanks in advance for helping
11. Just sharing this project with you guys. Were taking apps for pre-alpha apps if anyone is interested in helping/getting free copy. Currently we have only worked on the game for 5 days but I think the video will speak for its self. Video: http://youtu.be/nwuRkqLxPFg Obviously amazing results for such a short time period. This is the power of Vb/.Net Framework. Please email me at uokgames©gmail.com Subject Pre Alpha Ant Farms Gold if you want to sign up for pre alpha testing. Thanks.
12. I know most of you guys are C# devs but remember us Vb devs are affected as well. Typically VB is not a strong language for game dev but with the support of XNA it was a blessing. Now were just kinda left in the dark again. Microsoft needs to stop pissing off there devs or everyone will switch to IOS eww.
13. Does anyone have links for video tuts for Visual BAsic .Net XNa tuts or Visual Basic windows Phone Tuts
14. The new boston is a great site for video tuts
15. Commonly two reasons for NDA, ethier they have a good product or their being paranoid. Anyway you stack it, everyone thinks they have a good until the media and game reviewers rip it apart.
