    Microsoft losing the monopoly

    Hi about 1-2 years ago, I've read in a renowned swiss newspaper that Microsoft market share is down to 78%. This study was even without the mobiles...   No, I'm not a Mac user, but use Ubuntu for years, and think that's the best thing that could happen to IT.

    Symbol not found: _SDL_main

    Great swiftcoder, that helped.   I use SDL mainly for texture and sound loading. Regards Michael

    Symbol not found: _SDL_main

    Below as it works in 32bit. Swiftcoder, so I should simply delete all: #define main SDL_main that I find within sdl headers? I'll try that right now. Many thanks   -------- Invoking: MacOS X C++ Linker g++ -arch i386 -L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -framework OpenGL -framework Cocoa -framework OpenAL -framework SDL -framework SDL_image /Users/mike/workspace/P2/SDLMain.m -undefined warning -flat_namespace -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.5.sdk -mmacosx-version-min=10.5 -dynamiclib -o "mac.xpl" ./main.o -lgl -lglu ld: warning: in /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.5.sdk/Library/Frameworks//OpenAL.framework/OpenAL, file was built for ppc which is not the architecture being linked (i386) Finished building target: mac.xpl

    Main? It's a x-plane plugin hence only plugin start etc. And yes SDL.h is included. Weird that 32bit plugin works but not 64bit. The forum: forums.libsdl.org is closed? I cannot post only log in.
  5. Hi on OSX with -arch i386 all is fine but with x86_64 I get the above runtime error. What do I need to change for 64bit? Many thanks Michael
  6. Thanks Rip-off, now for seconds it's probably a bracket problem?       int degree = (int)lon;     int minutes = (int) ((lon - (float)degree) * 60.f);     int seconds = (int)(lon - (float)degree - (float)minutes * 60.f * 60.f); // tried all kind of variants but all were different to the output as in the above site.   Thanks again for help with seconds.
  7. Thanks Milcho and Brother Bob. The seconds from Milcho don't work and I cannot figure the error. Also I would like to write E or W: int seconds=? sprintf (bufflon, "Longitude: "(lon<0?"W ":"E ")""%d*%d.%d", degree, minutes,seconds);   Many thanks again
  8. Hi  how to format a float alike 50.3502 to show degrees minutes:       sprintf(bufflon,"Longitude: %2.4f\n", lon);   Same as: http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/audio/bickel/DDDMMSS-decimal.html   basically multiply the .3502 with 60 Many thanks
  9. Hi I suspect using std::stringstream is not big enough. Could that be? In fact I need to store around 20'000 characters. How to set std::stringstream size? Many thanks

    Thanks __SKYe that helped.

    read ascii value in c++

    I don't get any errors. It compiles ok but comparing the files after changing back is not identical. That's exactly what I'm investigating now. How would that look by changing "E" and not the value?

    read ascii value in c++

    while(!inFile.eof())     {         char NewByte, Byte;         // Out old byte is recieved from the file         Byte = inFile.get();         // If the file that we are reading has an error, turn 0         if (inFile.fail())             return 0;         if ((int)Byte == 56){                 NewByte = 126; Using if- and ofstream this doesn't work. Basically I want to change the value, save for later reopening. Later reopen and changing back to see the original text. Probably my conversions are not correct as without manipulating all is fine? Many thanks

    read ascii value in c++

    Hi following this: http://www.cpptutor.com/ascii.htm   I want to read a file with for example this content "TEST4testingTest" The problem is how to change the value E but to be able to revert it later again. So I've tried to save as int but I only get errors. Many thanks

    I use VC2010 on Vista. Eclipse, sometimes Qtcreator, on Ubuntu.   With Win8 dev prev I got an error with VC2012 alike "invalid side by side config"
