Personal Information

  1. Hey guys,   I am Blake Burns, co-founder of BlankMediaGames and co-creator of the semi-popular indie game Town of Salem, currently sitting at a quarter million registered users. I love to hear feedback from people who just pick up the game so that is why I am posting here :D We just got our second Kickstarter funded to bring the game to Steam and mobile so I wanted to hear what people who aren't fans of the game think about things. The game is currently in live Beta and can be played through the browser and is currently rated the Best Indie game on Gamejolt.     Game Overview:   - Multiplayer flash game (up to 15 people per game) - Free to play - Browser based (PC/Mac only) - No overhead to get in and start playing. - Mafia/Werewolf style of gameplay     Town of Salem is all about deception and convincing others you aren't the bad guy. It is all about mind games and understanding the human psyche to get an edge over the other players in the game. It is a digital adaption of the party game Mafia (or Werewolf if you've played that one) set in the witch trial era in an alternate universe Salem, MA.   If you are a good guy, stay alive and find the murderers before you die. If you are a bad guy, lie and stay under the radar until you are the last one standing.   Let me know what you think of the game :)   www.blankmediagames.com
  2. More Updates! It has been a wild ride. We are now in the last 24 hours of the Kickstarter with hope of reaching even more stretch goals. Meg Turney was nice enough to give us consent to sell her likeness in the shop so even if we don't hit the $20k stretch goal, you will be able to get a character based off of her  We will be doing an Ask Me Anything (AMA) at 6pm CST today (03/20) and will be streaming it live via twitch.tv. We will also upload it to youtube afterward.  Let's make these last 24 hours count!  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2002718381/town-of-salem-mafia-style-browser-game
  3. We just put up a new stretch goal to immortalize the YouTubers (Minx, LordMinion, OhmWrecker, Meg Turney, EntoanThePack, TheTeshTube, dlive22891, Deafinition) who helped us out when we were just a starting out. They will all be getting in-game characters. Check it out here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2002718381/town-of-salem-mafia-style-browser-game/posts/781448
  4. We are now 103% funded! :D We will be doing a lot of awesome stuff in the coming weeks, including our video with Meg Turney :) The Kickstarter ends in 60 hours and we have some pretty sweet stretch goals too.
  5. We just hit 92% funded with 4 days left. We are working on a complete front end UI rework that should be pretty awesome for everyone :) If you haven't tried the game, try it out and let me know what you think of it. I am always interested in hearing the perspective of new players.
  6. Thanks Kevin :) I am PyromonkeyGG on the forums and in-game so let me know if you need anything
  7. We have had an awesome week so far. We are now at 71% funded. We got discovered by some pretty big YouTubers including Minx and we pushed our new login system which now has 7000 registrations. In fact, we have gotten so big that Meg Turney (cosplayer, host at SourceFed) started playing our game. She is raving about it on her twitter and has said SourceFedNERD will be covering it in an upcoming indie-cent gaming video. :D
  8. We just released a big update that contains our new login system! So if you didn't want to play using Facebook you don't have to anymore! :D
  9. Since they were so popular, we just added 50 more $50 special tier rewards! They will go fast so get 'em while you can.https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2002718381/town-of-salem-mafia-style-browser-game
  10. We have gotten some great reviews/let's plays from some big names on the youtubes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=zSndvoT8Anc#t=5
  11. We are working on our own login system so you don't have to use Facebook. Also, we are talking to some pretty cool YouTubers that are gonna be making Let's Plays with us. They have over 200k combined subscribers so I think that will bring in some traffic :)
  12. Continue-play wrote an article about us. http://www.continue-play.com/news/town-of-salem-seeks-funding-on-kickstarter/
  13. We are at 31% funded! The $50 early bird specials sold out very quickly so we added 25 more of them. With a $50 donation you will unlock all of the cosmetic effects for life, you won't need to pay for anything in the game ever. The game is free to play but the shop sells things like new houses, character skins, pets and other cosmetic effects.
  14. Hey guys, thanks for your interest in the game :) I wanted to let everyone know we are doing a testing event tonight, 8pm CST. Check out the event on our Facebook:   https://www.facebook.com/pages/Town-of-Salem/1436824076554384   There will be a lot more people on so we can get some full games going and the Devs will be in teamspeak answering peoples questions.
  15. We have reached 22% funding! Please check it out if you like murder mystery games and tell your friends!
