  6. Hello everyone!  I have just posted a new game for Android called Debouncer.  The demo is available for FREE on Google Play.   Debouncer is a fun game where the player uses a paddle to bounce a Bouncing Artillery around to destroy all obstacles. The obstacles range in difficulty, taking either 1, 3, or 5 hits to destroy. The levels will also increase in difficulty as the player progresses!   The player uses the touch-keys to control the paddle movement and rotation. The player must react quickly to keep the Bouncing Artillery in air and avoid the spikes! Every Bouncing Artillery that is destroyed will consume a Bouncing Artillery Life (B.A.L).   Try out the FREE demo and let me know what you think   Game play video:   Download Demo on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.CB_InDev.Debouncer_Demo   [twitter]CBInDev[/twitter]

    naming my game

How about Swamp Light, or Shadow Light.  Using the term "light" to represent the main character's feature, and setting a tone that the game is set in dark/murk/swamp type areas.   I like Mr. Dim as the hero name, Mr. K Dim (pronounced Murky Dim) :)   Hope this help!
  8. I am familiar with Unity2D, and from that perspective, it's not very different at all.  There are some nuances you have to be aware of, like counting touches for example.  However, there are plenty of great examples and tutorials on how to do it and it's really not that difficult.

  11. Update, for those of you who would like to try it out on PC, I am working on a PC version through Steam in the Greenlight Concept section.  It works on Windows 64-bit editions, but should also work on 32-bit editions as well.   Let me know what you think: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=258211842

Brand new way to promote your app

As a new developer, I am very interested in this opportunity.
  14. BTW, as promised, I would update you on the playing of the game.  Overall the perception of the game itself is very professional.  It definitely feels like a game made by a small studio, and not just 1 person.  The presentation impressed me.   The control buttons are a little high on the screen, would have preferred them lower slightly (as they are now, my thumbs block half my screen).  I am using a Galaxy Note to test.   The game is extremely well put together, the graphics, the menus, it all flows very smoothly together.  The difficulty is a little on the high side, I got stuck on Level 1-3 for a few minutes, before trying something else.  It's not a bad thing at all, it's quite an accomplishment!  Make the user think about their moves and not just blindly run about.   Again I have to say, I am extremely impressed with the overall presentation of the game.  I encourage other people to try it and provide feedback!   Keep up the GREAT work!
  15. Will do!  Regarding the background music, what did you use to create those effects?  It sounds so good, brings back a lot of nostalgia!

[FREE] Dark Matter First Android Game

Looks great, I really like the music.  What did you use to compose it?
  17. Wow this looks great!  Good job, for a first game this is really impressive!   I will try Inkscape myself, as I have been looking for a graphics program (free).   Keep up the good work!  90 levels is a tremendous amount of content, can't believe it's free!   I will post again after playing it more :)

    Any input would be appreciated

I use WordPress for a free blog, they have "paid" versions and you can upgrade to get more features, but the basics are all available with the free edition.   Check out my blog for an example: http://cbindev.wordpress.com/   You can also use the RSS feed (they provide the link) so that you can setup a live RSS feed on your other website as well (please take a look at my website for an example of how it can look).   Hope this helps!
  19. This seems extremely interesting. I too am a new developer, mainly just a hobbyist trying to have fun with my spare time (first app is linked in my Signature).   Let me know when it's available as a regular e-book, I don't have a nook, but I am interested in this topic!
  20. Looks very fun, can't wait to try it out :)   What did you use to make it?

The video demo looks very nice, the music and effects are really good.  Also, I really like the art style on the terrain/background.  Which program did you use for the graphics?
