  2. LOST ORBIT: Coming May 12 2015 on Steam and PS4

    THUNDERCLAP US!!!   Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for taking a look at this thread!!   We're putting together a Thunderclap campaign to help spread word about the game's release on May 12th (PS4/Steam). Players take control of a lone astronaut (Harrison) who embarks on a dangerous journey to rejoin his civilization.   4. Hey GameDev's!   Compulsion Games released Contrast on Steam and PS4 in November of 2013 and Xbox One in June of 2014. We were lucky enough to partner with them and help bring the game to life.    PixelNAUTS was started by Chris Iacobucci and myself after we left Silicon Knights to pursue our own dreams of starting a company and developing our own games. We were both environment artists and decided to partner with likeminded studios and help them with their own projects. We got together with Compulsion Games in 2011 and worked with them on and off for two years to develop all the environment art for Contrast.    We wanted to share some of our work with you to showcase what we were able to accomplish with a two man team, some great art direction and a whole lot of passion.      Thanks!   -Alex Golebiowski PixelNAUTS studios co-founder     http://compulsiongames.com/ http://www.pixelnauts.ca/         The Streets                 Our main goal of the streets was to create a kit of assets we could use to make as much of the exterior as possible. We spent much of early development just creating walls, windows and rooftops. This allowed us to cover a ton of space in very little time. Designers could then refine gameplay and make sure everything worked as intended. Once everything was locked down we could move onto adding small details and refining other assets.     The Bar     Interiors like this let us do some custom work and have a bit of extra fun creating small and intimate locations.        The Cabaret       The main structure of the Cabaret was created as a "Lego kit" and was intended to be used for other interiors. Once the main assets were complete we were able to add small details and customize the look to set the tone of one of the games key set pieces.      We'll post more throughout the week. We have been hard at work and super busy but now we are happy to announce that LOST ORBIT will be launching on both Steam and Playstation 4 in early 2015. We will have LOST ORBIT playable at the PlayStation Experience December 6th and 7th in Las Vegas. If you have the chance, come see us check out the game. The character art will also change with progress through the game to adjust for the state of Harrison's adventures through space.
