Genre:[background=#fafafa] [title] is a hybrid co-op FPS/TPS borrowing elements from other genres like strategy, action, RPG, and some unique gameplay components.[/background] Platform: [background=#fafafa]Current development platform will be PC/Mac including variant OS’s like GNU/Linux. The player will struggle against known and unknown aggressors, scarce resources, branching story paths, item durability, and the overarching storyline to discover the truth behind humanity’s decline.[/background] Backstory:[background=#fafafa] The history of the human race has been lost. It has been so long since the event that no one can recall how it began. Movement on the surface of the planet is heavily restricted due to the dwindling population and low birth statistics. And the headaches… they keep coming. Where do they come from?[/background] [background=#fafafa]The food is almost gone and people are starting to panic. The people outnumber the protectors and civil unrest is inevitable. You will need to venture out and find supplies to stave off starvation and dehydration as you search for a new place for people to settle. Traveling alone is not advised, so others must go with you.[/background] Target Audience: [background=#fafafa]This game is aiming for an ESRB T-M rating based on artistic design and subject matter such as violence, gore, and/or language. There will be several main line and side line NPC’s that will aid the player(s) and/or provide items essential to the completion of the game. Various discoverable plot related items will also be obtainable by searching the environment. Completion of the game will depend on which alliance the player(s) have made to further themselves in the story and is mostly task and alliance driven. DLC’s are also being discussed for plot and perks.[/background] Features:[background=#fafafa] The game will use a structured open world with defined story branches which affect the allegiance of the player or group. Players will make use of a crafting system for items and weapons that will primarily be constructed by scavenging for resources. There will also be an Achievement system for various types of tasks or feats.[/background] Goals:[background=#fafafa] Players will be able to use real world related tactics to survive against difficult odds. They will also be able to utilize teamwork with NPC’s and other players to complete obstacles and missions required to complete the game. It is meant to engage and immerse the player in a life or death struggle to build and survive at all costs.[/background]   [background=#fafafa]Contact:[/background] We need your feedback! 4. Can you think of a better name? :L
  5. I'll take that advice! Gonna throw together a demo and pop it out within the next 6 months as a teaser, I'd love to keep in contact for more advice and help!
  6. Intro: I started to put together plans for a low rez 3D FPS not too long ago..    It's based in a decent sized city, lets say Atlanta Georgia.. The game will follow the roll of the tv show Revolution, but with a bit of a twist..   Rough Story Line:   About 15 years ago a small outbreak of a virus known as virus b-200342 was somehow released from a top secret research facility. The virus was then released into the water supply of New York City. The Virus, later to be called the Doom Virus (Looking for another name for it) made its way into the system of nearly every living occupant of New York. It acted like an STD, traveling from person to person in every way it could, waiting to initiate its madness. After a month a converse from person to person, the government began delivering vaccines, which were later determined to only save the non infected from their chance of a future doom. Nearly 98% of the world population had already been infected by now. The crisis was believed to be averted and so everyone went on with the everyday lives. But then it happened, in one swooping action every infected person was sort of "Activated." Their veins began glowing blue and their minds went blank, focusing around one thing... Food. Not your normal kinda food either, more along eating those of not their kind. 10 years before the story begins is when this happened, now the infected mope around, looking for food but tired. Sort of in a zombie-like state but ready to attack whenever bothered.     This is where the game comes in. You are a survivor, the characteristics of your survivor are determined by your prologue (physical appearance, past life, and mental abilities.) You have been looking for other survivors for years now and have just decided to head down to the Atlanta area, In hopes of finding some sort of survivors. Of course the place is swarming with the Doomed ones. Yet you find signs of the living. You then proceed into Atlanta and that is where your story begins.   Game Characteristics: I love the idea of open world survival games... The thought of doing everything you can to survive and work your way around, trying to form a group and kick some ass. so here are my main game characteristics or mechanics.Survivability (Needing to eat and drink, also medicines and craftable splints)Weapons (Not so much high-tech and accurate.. possibly handmade and crude, but a few precision ones hidden about.)The Doomed AI (Stumbling about, but when they detect a human they will walk or crawl in a job like speed, possibly pouncing at you.)Food and Water (You cannot be infected so you can drink from the tap if you find a working sink, food is scarce but find-able) Medicine (A few hospitals can be found on the map, full of meds and bandaging material, possible craftable from herbs and cloth)Player Creation (Focused around people from age 16 to 40, customizable in all ways)Possible MMO (100 player servers, with faction creation and base building)Base building (The ability to scavenge wood and parts from vehicles and utilities to craft base items)Terrain (A large infected city with little power)Hiring: [deleted by moderator - use the Classifieds for your recruiting efforts]   Feedback:   Give me your feedback! It's the best thing i could use right now to determine rather or not i want to go on with this project.   Thank you for taking your time to read this
