Then you've answered your question.   However, C++ is probably overkill for a smash-bros game. You might want to try C# instead. i will think about it, thanks for your time

making a serious game in flash

i made one and only game for now,http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/648854, i don't think it's bad but not good either... I think i will do other stuff before the smash bros thing, but i want to know if i could do a serious standalone game in flash or not

making a serious game in flash

the game i wanted to make was a smash bros type of game, but before i start i wanna know if it's worth doing it in flash and then make it a standalone...or, instead, just learn c++ and work in that language. i like actionscript and how flash works because it's easy to draw and you have all the animations ready to go, but i often hear that flash has bad performances with large files and it's not worth using it for a standalone game. is it a good idea to make the game in as3 and then use c++ to optimize it or not?
  7. Hi, i really like Flash pro and i'm learning it to try making a serious game, with an installer...not just a little online game. i already found out that i can make an installable flash application with adobe air, the problem is that flash is not actually meant to run smoothly large files and i'm afraid that the application will be slow and not optimized. i heard that games like castle crashers and battleblock theatre were made entirely in flash and actionscript, but then they ran them in a flash parser made in c++ to speed up and optimize the game, can someone explain how this works?
