[Android] Tumble Panda, a 2D jump ‘n’ roll adventure game

We just published a big update, adding four new levels. All of them are very hard, but the last one is almost unbeatable. Here is a little teaser I made:

  7. Hi all,   my name is Johannes, I'm one of the founders of Andlabs, an indie game studio from Germany.   We released our newest game, Tumble Panda, to Google Play yesterday. Please feel invited to give it a try.          You can get it on the Google Play Store     The Game Tumble Panda is a 2D jump ‘n’ roll adventure game.   As a hungry Panda, the player is permanently looking for delicious bamboo. And since trotting is just not fun, the little Panda prefers to roll through the 40 handcrafted levels. But obstacles are blocking the way. Geysers eject hot water and steam, unstable paths made of lampions need to be crossed and trampolines used to reach high platforms. A normal day in the life of a hungry Panda.   The Panda curls up into a ball, gains speed and launches himself over an abyss. While flying, he uses his Panda-powers to trigger an explosion at just the right time to destroy a pile of stones obstructing his way on the other side. Alternatively, he could have also caused an earthquake to clear them away in advance. Many adventures and challenges await the little Panda...     Our Story Tumble Panda is the first real game we have published and we are really excited and hope it will do well. However, we didn't start as an app development company. Back in 2008, when I was still a student, a friend introduced me to the Android platform. We all were convinced of its success and in the end decided that it would be nice to found a company around that platform. This is why we founded Andlabs in the beginning of 2010. We wanted to provide our development services because we thought it would be an easy way to make money. However, it turned out that it wasn't at all that easy to get customers, especially when you are a set of student without portfolio. So we developed some apps on our own and in 2011, we slowly started to get our first development gigs. In the beginning of 2012 we were lucky and got a contract with a German car manufacturer which lasted until end-2013. Besides making us some good money, this also was a great learning experience on how large companies behave and on their culture...  After we had finished the job we decided it was time to stop developing software for others and start developing our own applications. From there on it was easy for us to decide that we wanted to get into the gaming business. I had prototyped the basic concept of Tumble Panda already before and now started to invest more of my time into the game and get a graphics and sound designer involved in it too. Unsurprisingly the development took far longer than I had thought or hoped for various reasons (we for example thought it would be a great idea to create and publish a Flappy Bird clone), but in the end luckily our persistence made us finish the game.  Developing Tumble Panda was mostly a great experience. I'm happy we chose this path and hope will be successful enough to continue it in the future. I'll keep you posted.   Screenshots
