  1. Okay, then, that's one more forum I won't be investing any money in, and I'm sure to report this to the news company too about this, as I always have and always will...   For if no one will take time and effort to help a person in real need, then they shouldn't be supported in deed.   Famous Quote by yours truely, Brandon Thomason.   I hope you had fun thinking the poor fellow was a troll, but the game's over.   Have a nice day...   Sincerely,   Brandon Thomason.
  2.   I don't really know. It's puzzled my doctor. Your right, all human beings learn.   But I learn very very slow...     I'm glad I know how to type better than most people. But writing books is another thing... and I am not good at that.   I am good at writing short details!   So, if all human beings can learn, why is it different for me? Usually, I feel like I'm being picked on out of the crowd...       I read books like these. The testimonial may be great, but they are generated by people who they know, or by themselves. Basically, books like these are usually self published and not based on fact...   The woman who changed her brain? You really can't do this unless you can learn...   For example, you'd be lucky to get out of a coma. You're even luckier to RELEARN things. But this is all based on age and timing. If you've been this way all your life, and your just getting out now, chances are likely that you will learn little to nothing. Basically, I have a diagnosis of what can be described as "limited cranial capacity". I can only learn so much... as well as learn only so little over a great time period.   Why are we talking about my learning disability? It seems I talk about it all the time on forums, then get kicked.]     Here's an idea, let's close all of my threads (not hide them), and start anew?
  3. Sorry, I'm being very negative again... I feel horrible learning the truth. The truth that no one is interested despite I myself knowing that this COULD be a success, but not being able to present anything...   I'll try to be more positive from now on... if there is anything to be positive about, I'll talk about it.     Gamination, it's much too early for you to talk about forming a company. You have a lot to learn about making games, and about business, before you'll be ready to start a business. I have to ask: how old are you? How much education have you completed (high school, university, masters degree)? And what country do you live in?   I have a cheated high school diploma. Yeah, I was that bad at school. On the positive side, I have a high school diploma...   I don't have any university or college things. I don't qualify and can't pay for that kind of thing.   On the positive side, I can make a decent living by myself... earning a $25 a month total net income. :)   I'm 23 years old...
  4.   What do you think happened to me and Spyro: Skylanders?   My deviantart story was a spyro story with a character JUST LIKE WHIRLWIND... and it recieved a lot of views. When Skylanders came out much later, whirlwind reflected my character with precise detail... So, yes, people do steal ideas.   I deleted the deviantart story later, devastated.
  5.   So I'm not welcome here either... FIGURES!   It happens on every forum... because I am incompetent.   My mom always said to stay away from strangers and forums...   No body likes me, everybody hates me, Guess I'll go eat worms...
  6. Yes. It's weighted by the reputation of the person rating you. For example, if I downvoted you, it'd deduct -4. (I'm not a moderator! Just a user with a stupid-high reputation from helping users with their programming problems while procrastinating on my own ) The community kinda self-moderates the community, in terms of reputation. Moderators only step in when people do something against the site rules.   Nope! We get loads of new users, and by and large the vast majority of them find this community very welcoming and friendly.   A chance at what? Downvotes don't ban you from the community, they only inform you that you're doing something the community doesn't approve of.   Perhaps people were a bit hasty in that, but it has absolutely nothing to do with you being new.   Here's some reasons of why you might've been downrated: First you posted a 'recruitment thread' which isn't allowed here. We have a special area for recruitment threads: on the menubar at the top of the site, see "Classified". It's free to post for non-commercial projects, but commercial projects have to pay (small) listing fees.   Second, on the internet it's generally not socially acceptable to create multiple forum threads discussing the same subject. That's often considered annoying - at least by this community. A discussion should be contained in one place, not spread over multiple threads.   We're not nazis; you're definitely welcome here. Any new community will have a slight learning curve, and the value this community brings, knowledge-wise, is worth a little bit of effort learning to adapt. Third, it doesn't look like you've done much research. You don't hire "Distributors", and people don't get investors without a proven track record or, failing that, a very impressive prototype. You have to start smaller, Fourth, you are doing one of the infamous types of posts that usually are some variation of, "I'll be the idea guy, but I need skilled people to make my game for me.", which isn't how things work. You have to start smaller, develop your skills, and work on small projects that you can get halfway to completion before asking for people to help you. Too many people ask for help from the start of a project, and the projects rarely ever make it to completion. Instead, people need to to see what they can achieve on your own, and after working a year on *the development* of it (not just design), half-completing it, then you recruit others to the team. Paying people in promises of sharing any potential revenue doesn't work, because that potential revenue isn't ever going to come without experience, and experience either requires you to work, or you to pay. So, you have to work and learn and teach yourself to gain the experience necessary to bring your game to half-completion without outside help. This sounds counter-intuitive ("How can I build something without people to help me do it!"), but that's not the actual question. The real question is, "How can I get people to work for me, if I'm not paying them actual money?", and the answer to that is to show that your project actually has a chance at success, by bringing it almost entirely to completion on your own sweat and time. This may mean starting with a *much* smaller game, and starting with free tools that are easily learnable, and spending the effort to learn them.   We're not saying your goals (running a company, making games, making money) are illogical. Those are reasonable goals. It's your method of achieving those goals that aren't very logical.    Asking people to work for free, or with fantasy promises of potential money, will only get you people who are equally inexperienced. And equally inexperienced people will only help you make a buggy poorly designed and often unfinished game. Thousands of people are making games solo nowadays - start with smaller projects, and use them as stepping stones. Don't try to build an entire building without learning how to build a shed.   Passion is fine, but a lack of planning isn't. So don't be discouraged, but don't be delusional either. Big dreams are achieved by small steps - you have to start small, and work your way up.      Okay, I read the entirety of this.   One slight problem   I can't learn.   Not that I don't want to learn, but basically, I'm truely "incompetent".   If you read my post, you would've noticed this well. Not trying to sound like a troll or flaming, and sorry if I come accross that way, but yes, that would be noticable.   So, How can I take baby steps ON MY OWN if I can't learn?   I tried in school and failed. Is there something wrong with me?       Don't do what exactly? I'm not understanding the hint, unfortionately. T_T
  7. Hey, that common traps thing, Frob, doesn't help...   And that warning, was unnessary. I wasn't cross posting (whatever that is)... I was making it easier for me to explain myself. Not many people visit ALL of the forums (1). So, explaining myself over and over, especially one LONG post, can be time consuming and frustrating. I posted the same post in another forum (but it is being moderated at the moment). So, really, it saves time, and is very ingenious.   Reference: Past Forums (I've been kicked off of Pokecommunity due to this kind of thing, when I was explaining myself and who I was. Rediculous!)   I don't really care about "Who did all the work"... I just want my game made the way I want it. Very specific. However, since I cannot learn on my own or with help, that seems very unlikely that I will be able to create a game on my own without someone doing it for me.   You're making me feel useless again...   How do you think I'll end up broke? I've already got a group with 2 other people, so it appears to be working... slowly.   I'm also planning on using godaddy.com to make a website, and add my forum to it. Also, I plan on advertising as much as I can on as many popular websites as I can about my game (minus the details). Once enough people are interested, I will ask them some questions to see if they are honest folk and will commit to working WITH me.
  8. Based on the way my rep is going, it's dropping like flies. Do you think I will hit 0 points? Give me your thought. Just for laughs, I guess.   I couldn't find the general discussion thread, so I posted here...

    The Gamination Company

Why'd this topic get moved to beginners? This is not a beginner topic, even though I am a beginner, it doesn't correlate...   This belongs in the Indie Projects, because it IS an official indie project

    The Gamination Company

Well, no one can reply in the classfields. That's why I posted here.   In addition, this is a backup thread, in case that my classfield is removed/revoked due to some violation...
  11. I really need help, but if no one wants to help, I can't get help.   I wish I could state something positive about myself, but there's not much positive I have in my life that relates to business and game design.   Recap on my thread (So I don't have to post it all over again in different words; that's a lot of typing... :/):     What have you produced before, do you have a portfolio? I have not produced anything. No, I do not have a portfolio. Everything I've been hired to do I have been fired from because of incompetence.   Question for you... to produce something, you need to have a product. So how can you produce something if you never have before? My question really is, how can you start if you haven't finished? You can start, but if people don't want to participate because you haven't finished, how can you start? It really doesn't make sense. You are trying to get me to do something impossible... like be more than chuck norris, like starting only because I have finished something, which I haven't. And no one can. Everyone has to start somewhere, they can't just start off "finished" It sounds like you're trying to build a big company from nothing, usually to do this you need previous industry experience. And what might that be? Flipping burgers? Done that, and failed. Janitorial work? done that and been fired. All because of "incompetence." I have a creative mind. Can that work? Have you invested your own cold hard cash into this company and properly registered it? If not why should others be inspired to?    I have. I currently have a meetup group, with 2 participants. However, they have not put down in stone that they are participating in the first meeting.   The registration companies want a demo, not a bunch of scripts/documents, which is all I have. I need people to help me create a demo, because I can't do it on my own.   You see, it's hard for me to learn anything, if at all. I cheated all the way through public school, copying answers, as well as obtaining the test answers. I did school online, so it was easy  (Watch the teacher put in her password, then monkey see, monkey do. Very simple, but deadly.) Basically, my high school diploma was all cheat-obtained. I don't have any personal experience. Heck, I can't even add or subtract very well. I know pretty much up to 100. Anything beyond that is difficult. But I am very creative. Everyone around me says I'm smart, but they do not know the truth. I am creative, not smart. I want to make something of myself.   I've tried to go to many colleges here in Boise, ID. But they all turned me down because of my SAT test results, which was a failing score. Other colleges even had their own tests, which I failed.   I am in a poor poor situation. My family, friends, relatives, everyone around me are either very poor and cannot support me, or don't exist anymore. I am all alone.   I make a minimum social security. I live in an apartment that allows me to make payments based on my income, which is barely enough to allow me food and such. I don't qualify for food stamps, surprisingly.   So, basically, all I can really do is create a group and go into debt. Anyone who wishes to help me out and achieve my dreams, go for it.   You know, I see people all around me in similar situations rise from their troubles and become great and wealthy. I wish to do the same. But people always tell me "You're wanting the impossible. Give up. Go for something easier. You cannot do this." But I want to do this. I wish to achieve my dream. I WILL achieve my dream.  No matter what others say. Even there on SSBB forums, I was a bit down on myself because I discovered another game similar to mine, but I wont give up! I'm counting on achieving the improbable, not impossible!     So, basically, I want to make a Game Company from scratch. No money, no talent, no initial friends or help from others, just myself and seeking other people.     Where would I begin? What path would I take?

Some moderator is being a bad guy again! This was located in the Beginner's section.   I really need help, but if no one wants to help, I can't get help.   The thread stated thus follows:   Yeah, if you just read my post in indie projects, you'll find out that I'm pretty lame in learning. I'll repost it here, too.   What have you produced before, do you have a portfolio? I have not produced anything. No, I do not have a portfolio. 13. My reputation is droping fast, it seems that every -1 point deducts 3 reputation from me. Is this normal? I am always telling the truth, and both of my posts in the Gamination Company thread have been downvoted. I think I'm being targeted because I'm a new user...   New users shouldn't be downvoted so quickly, only upvoted. Thus, everyone will have a chance.
