  1. In this daily blog (and video)-series I take a first impressions look at the best mobile games that I come by. Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! A chaotic dragon-swiping "slingshot" platformer with 50 levels, an endless mode, and lots of awesome weapons to unlock. The game provides some great fun for a few days, and is monetized very lightly through occasional video ads, which can be removed through a single $2 IAP. 2. In this daily blog (and video)-series I take a first impressions look at the best mobile games that I come by. Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! As a story-driven zombie FPS played as a mix between a 3D shooter and a level-based "runner" where you run forward automatically, moving from side to side and blasting enemies, Into the Dead 2 does really well! The energy system through which the game monetizes is frustrating to say the least, but the daily missions game-mode makes up for this by allowing you to play as much as you want in an "endless" game-mode. 3. In this daily blog (and video)-series I take a first impressions look at the best mobile games that I come by. Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! Aiming and shooting your way through singleplayer, same-device multiplayer, and soon even online multiplayer game-modes using a ton of different characters with unique weapons is a lot of fun. The ragdoll effects are hilarious, art-style is Happy Tree Friends-like, and the gameplay reminds me of old PC games like Pocket Tanks. Monetization happens through TOO MANY ads, but at least they can be removed through a single $2 IAP. 4. In this daily blog (and video)-series I take a first impressions look at the best mobile games that I come by. Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! With a light-hearted storyline, high-quality voiced cut-scenes, hundreds of characters to unlock, and a pet system, Lionheart: Dark Moon is an interesting RPG with quite a bit of depth to both characters and combat. The energy system is frustrating and limiting, however, which might ruin the gameplay experience if you're looking to play for extended periods of time. The game's everything you expect from a mobile RPG these days (both good and bad), so expect a grindy level progression but lots of awesome heroes to unlock. Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! 8-bit indie action game Magink has you battle it out against ink-monsters in a short but interesting and very unique game. The "swipe to attack" mechanism works really great, and choosing the correct attack for any given situation is a real challenge (you have three types of ink; red, yellow, or blue, each with their own basic attacks and special abilities). The game has no IAP nor ads, most likely because the game doesn't seem 100% finished yet. As the devs are Chinese, however, it is difficult to find any info on any potential updates. 6. In this daily blog (and video)-series I take a first impressions look at the best mobile games that I come by. Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! Highly polished Super Phantom Cat 2 is one of the best platforming games I've played recently, with many interesting powers (skills), characters, and lots of hidden areas to uncover. Monetization happens through a "life" (energy) system, which can be completely removed through a $2 IAP, however, and even with the life system, you'll still easily be able to get through at least a 30 minute play sessions without ever experiencing it. An easy recommendation if you're looking for a bright and colorful platformer that is actually fun! Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! Wow! No chests to open, great graphics, both auto-shoot and non-auto shoot modes, 500+ weapons and armor pieces, and the most awesome "open-world menu" ever. Shadowgun Legends is amazing! My one and only complaint about the game is the load times, but everything else simply plays and feels amazing. As for my wish for the future, I simply hope they'll add 3v3 or 4v4 PVP game-modes too, as there's only 1v1 or co-op campaigns right now. Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! Completing hundreds of thousands of user-generated tracks on your BMX in stick-figure-themed racing game classic, Free Rider HD, is amazing! I've been waiting for the game to arrive on mobile for ages. The original Flash games have been played over half a billion times, and the mobile adaption is everything I hoped for. There are IAPs to buy skins (hats), but apart from that, the only IAP is a $1 one to remove ads. 9. In this daily blog (and video)-series I take a first impressions look at the best mobile games that I come by. Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! "TD meets Clash of Clans"-game Wild Guardians is a multiplayer tower defense game with two main elements; attacking other players' waves of enemies in a traditional TD-style, and a "base defense" element where you setup waves of monsters yourself, who other players then have to fight against. Unlocking new heroes and troops happens through instantly-openable chests, and gold and "plasma" rewards for winning battles are locked behind timed-chests. The latter sucks, but at least for once we do NOT have to collect "xx" amount of each hero to upgrade it - instead, we simply use gold. Although the game is still early in its development and fine-tuning, it's definitely one to keep an eye out for. Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! Stop / Start trains to avoid them crashing together as you transport the right people to the right train stations in this level-based train conductor simulator. Simple in theory, but it gets super chatoic (in a good way) really quickly! The art style is amazing, there's plenty of train designs to unlock, and monetization happens through video ads, which can be removed through a single $4.99 IAP. Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! The UI sucks, but the core real-time PVP mech batles in ExoGears 2 are simply epic (both 1vs1 and 2vs2). The one-joystick setup where aiming happens automatically works really well, changing the focus from "how well can you aim" to "what's the right strategy for using your different attacks (of which you have quite a few!)". There's a ton of weapons and gear to unlock and upgrade, as well as different types of Mechs. Although the game still needs a bit of optimization and COULD turn p2w if th devs get greedy, it is definitely one to check out if you like Mech fighting games! Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! Graphics look great, controls work really well, the level designs are amazing, but the gameplay of Tentacles Enter the Mind is nearly impossible to explain (sorry...). You basically play as a tentacle (monster?) living inside the brain of a mad professor, and your job is to get to the end of each randomly generated level by throwing your tentacles (in best Spider-man style) and defeating enemies along the way. Monetization happens through ads and a $2 IAP to remove all ads. Blow up tanks and troops as you take control of the entire war-zone playing vs. an AI or hot-seat vs. a friend in this 8-bit turn-based strategy game with no ads nor IAPs! The game is fun, completely free to play, and even has a level editor. What more is there to ask for, really? Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! In "survive for as long as you can"-game Bomb Hunters, you run around diffusing bombs while avoiding snipers, soldies, and yes, even cars in a crossy road-like level design. The game is fun and challenging, but even though there are no forced ads, I feel like there are too many incentivized ads and they feel too forced upon me. Not a game for everyone, but certainly enjoyable as a casual experience. Be sure to share your favorite mobile game with the rest of us in the comments below! A humoristic 2D side-scrolling base-defending game set in a "cat"-themed universe with over 100 cats to unlock through a gacha system (yes, even a "cow cat" :p). The game has an energy system, but the amount of energy available can be upgraded for gold (soft-currency), and even the premium currency is plentifully rewarded simply through playing.
