What Programming Language Should I Tackle First?

I'd go with a simple language. The more fun and easy it is to get something up and running the more likely you are to finish it. I quite like pygame https://www.pygame.org/news.   And don't overlook JavaScript, that's my current language of choice. I know it has its detractors but it's super easy to get started. All you need is a simple file editor (like notepad++) and a browser. https://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_canvas.asp
  2. What are some good business models for single-player games playable in the browser? Advertising? Merchandise? Selling more fully featured games (or games as more content) as downloads? I'm asking because single-player web games with a small scope are the easiest for me to make.

Marketing How to get the word out

I found one other resource on this topic http://ninichimusic.com/blog/2016/10/17/6-must-do-marketing-tips-for-indie-game-developers Wow, jbadams, that looks really detailed. It's exactly what I'm looking for.
  4. Hey all, what are some good ideas for getting people to find your game? I've got a simple web site and a twitter account. I'm going to use the twitter account to show how I make games and give out other behind-the-scenes info. I've made a trailer and put it up on youtube. I'm thinking about starting a dev blog. And I've written down and plan to implement most every suggestion Extra Credits has made:  Any other ideas?
  5. Hey all, I've made a simple game where you pilot a space ship dodging asteroids. You can play it for free at robopotato.com/spacerocket [attachment=35396:space_rocket_portfolioxcf.png] It's ready to play but I'm still actively developing it. I'd welcome any feedback, comments, or suggestions.
