    vertices for rotation

fleabay: Thanks so much for the information! You were exactly right! Work like a charm! I am so happy to have this fixed. I spent 4 days off and on just on the right side vertices without any luck at all. Is there a quick fix for the left and bottom? I have them fixed now. I copied the right side to the left side and changed the signs for the X vertices, but still had to change some others to make it look right. I copied the TOP vertices to the Bottom and changed the Y vertices, but still had to change some others. Glad you were available to help me on this! Have a great day! Thanks again!!!!!!!

    vertices for rotation

fleabay: I don't exactly understand what you mean. If it is not too much trouble could you convert my original vertices so I could see the result? I could plug them into my program and see if they worked. Thanks again! Have a great day!

    vertices for rotation

Yes, I am quite familiar with Opengl and Allegro 5. I have already written many programs to render some geometric shapes. This one just seems to be impossible for me to figure out. I guess I am getting too old. I will keep trying to figure this out. Thanks for your time. Have a great day!

Hey, that looks exactly what I am trying to do! I didn't know what it was called but it looks like what I need. Is there any information available for this? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    vertices for rotation

Thanks for all the help. Very interesting video. What I want to do is instead of a cube with 4 sides per face, I want to do a cube with each face having 8 sides. I would then texture each face and fill in the corners with color. How to apply the vertices for the right side and top is giving me the problem. In other words how do I arrange the vertices to make the octagon on the right side and top so I can rotate the cube and it look like it should. Hope I am being clear in what I have said. Thanks for any help.
  6. I am trying to write a program to rotate an octagon cube. I have the front and back faces completed. I can't seem to figure out the vertices for the right and top faces. Can someone please help me? Thanks for your time! Here are the front vertices: (-0.5, -1.0, 1.0) (0.5, -1.0, 1.0) (1.0, -0.5, 1.0) (1.0, 0.5, 1.0) (0.5, 1.0, 1.0) (-0,5, 1.0, 1.0) (-1.0, 0.5, 1.0) (-1.0, -0.5, 1.0)
  7. I am trying to get user input in ascii text only from keyboard using Allegro 5 on ubuntu. I want to store input in buffer or structure and be able to show on screen. Anyone know how this can be done? Thanks
