    Lost motivation for programming

If I were you I'd take a look at micro-controllers and FPGAs, or just pick up a book on digital design in general. You already have a programming mindset, and that will transfer well to digital hardware. Of course, modern electornics is heavily dependent on programming. Seeing something you physically made as well as programmed, may be just what you need to get back on the wagon. I know how you feel. Having all these ideas that you want to implement, but for some reason, you just can't bring yourself to sit down and do it. Take a look around the following links if I've perked your interest. http://www.dutchforce.com/~eforum/index.php? http://www.fpga4fun.com/ The dutchforce forum has digital/embedden design sections. A lot of people programming PICs there, but don't discount FPGAs or CPLDs. Most of what those PIC programmers are doing is overkill for a micro-controller.

    Linux Questions

Better to install Windows in vmware under linux. Then there is no reboot required when/if something crashes. Just kill and restart vmware.
