    Thanks!

    [smile]I'm not gone yet. I'm planning to randomise my password (so I won't be tempted to come back), but I won't until I've given the people I just sent PMs to a chance to PM back.

    Thanks!

People know you appreciate the community by your willingness to post something useful within 690+ posts and after two years of putting up with some of the crap. That the existing members know how much I appreciate their collective 'community spirit' and effort is more important than bringing fresh members, at least to me. But we got the message after you came back to say something worthwhile over and over and over again. If you hated us you'd say something to that effect or you'd just leave, no? Hate? Where'd you get that from? I can't make sense of that at all. There is no hate... this is amicable, to say the least. I'm just spending way too much time here, and don't think I can minimise my time. Besides, this is only my second reply this thread. I simply thought it best to acknowledge and farewell the many kind people here.

Quote: OK, who are the special-ed people who rated this guy up? He SAID he was leaving... Now the real motive comes out, to raise my rating 7 points...[smile] Anyway, I've began PMing a few people for the last time. I hope to stay in contact with a few of them.

    Thanks!

    I'm leaving now, but before I go I thought it'd be best to tell you all what I think of you... I think this is a great community made up of a great buncha guys, and a great site in general. I wish you all the very best for the future!

    Class/Function Problem

    Dude, you implement the Player type so that any instance of Player does what Client can do, like so... class Player { public: void Status() const { cout << "My health is ==> " << health; } }; int main() { Player client, other; // set client, other hp client.Status(); other.Status(); return 0; }
  6. The age guidlines set by local authorities are usually spot on, and should be obeyed. Anyway, he'll finally decide to approach her, and her response? "Who the fuck are you, twerp?" [wink] All for nought.

    Optimizations are worth the effort

    A lot of this applies to the eternal search for a perfect interface / design. You can waste time looking for something that doesn't exist or spend time with grease on your elbow a plenty.

    Woman Kills Over French Fries

    'Tis reminiscent of the great 'last tinny' catastrophes of 98 and 02 that wiped out the entire west coast of our great nation.
  12. I'm 20, and if there was a female version of me that was 17, I wouldn't date her, because I know how much I've changed emotionally in the last 3 years. The implications are hers, not yours.

    Weird trick.

    He simply means you may typedef the full instantiation of a template like typedef vector<double> vd; I'm not sure of any methods to do what you want in most non pod/struct cases, e.g. template <class T> class duplet : public pair<T, T> {}; duplet<int> d; d.first = 3, d.second = 4; cout << d.first << ", " << d.second << endl;

    cout, the root of all evil

    Did you change from debug to release at any time? That often causes unforseen problems to arise...
  15. Quote:Original post by philvaira I'm leaving this unhelpful site. Actually, IIRC cout provides a mechanism to print the preceding 0x, but I can't remember exactly what it was... [Edited by - evolutional on September 14, 2004 4:28:53 AM]
