    Moon landing a hoax?

Do you honestly think the Russian Government would let America get away with such a hoax?
  3. If you need high speed input, Windows Messages will still do the job if you use WM_KEYDOWN, and WM_KEYUP. Quake 2, and Quake 3 use this method for their input, and I would have to say they are pretty fast paced games. I would recommend using the Windows Messages WM_KEYDOWN, and WM_KEYUP.

    SDL possibly to slow?

I highly recommend you start to use a profiler. In one run you can find exactly what function is slowing you down, instead of guessing.

    The new XBox sounds sweet!

The reason the dynamic recompilers have been so successful in the past is simple. The emulater authors never had to deal with emulating x86. The N64, PSX, and PS2 all run on a mips cpu. The mips is a very clean design. There are no flags, simple opcodes, everything is aligned perfectly and there are many registers. That is why it is so easy to emulate. The x86 is the ugliest thing around. Emulating flags is a pain. Let us say you wish to emulate the add opcode. Add can potentially set 6 flags(OF, SF, ZF, AF, CF, PF). The hardest part of emulation isn't running the cpu it's the timing between all components.

Why is it that nobody remembers the name of Johann Gambolputty de von Ausfern-schplenden-schlitter-crasscrenbon-fried-digger-dingle-dangle- dongle-dungle-burstein-von-knacker-thrasher-apple-banger-horowitz- ticolensic-grander-knotty-spelltinkle-grandlich-grumblemeyer- spelterwasser-kurstlich-himbleeisen-bahnwagen-gutenabend-bitte-ein- nurnburger-bratwustle-gernspurten-mitz-weimache-luber-hundsfut- gumberaber-shonedanker-kalbsfleisch-mittler-aucher von Hautkopft of Ulm. I was reading Monty Python scripts and wanted to save this ridiculous name for future use.

What do you think about playing piano?

Here's a nice piano peice that you may all enjoy written by the "King of the Piano". Be sure to crank up the speakers. Totentanz by Franz Liszt, live recording played by Cziffra. I just love the fury displayed in this peice.

My only guess is the error comes from a lack of LPDIRECTDRAW7 being defined. MSVC 6.0 does not come equipped with DirectDraw7, you must install the SDK. This should work.
  9. I would have to say Gatts from Berserk, he kicks ass.

    Piano question...

I suggest looking at the piano forum found at www.pianoforum.net. This will help you much.

    MIPS Assembly: if/else help

To compare to registers in mips you would use the following: beq rs, rt, offset if (rs == rt) PC += offset bne rs, rt, offset if (rs != rt) PC += offset

    The 64 bit shift

Quote:Original post by Skizz P.S. The N64 was advertised as a 64bit system and the PS2 as a 128bit system but they both only had 32 bit integer registers. The N64 did in fact have 32 64 bit registers on the main cpu. That cpu being a mips r4300. The Playstation 2's vector units both have 128 bit registers(although they run in SIMD mode). One of the vector units can run as the main cpu.
