  1. Is it Ok to install a licensed VS7 over unlicensed Windows? Will I have any problems w/ Microsoft looking at my conpiled apps?
  2. Need some XML parsing lib. With C / C++ sources recommended
  3. I'm having an read-only edit w/ XP styles but when I scroll it, part of its background flows or turns to white. Whats the problem is? As I can see its a Window XP bug.

    VS bug?

    I was writing a code DWORD appParam::Set(DWORD checked) { DWORD temp = this->checked; this->checked = checked; this->failed = false; return temp; } and received an application error. After I ahve changed it to DWORD appParam::Set(DWORD checked1) { DWORD temp = this->checked; this->checked = checked1; this->failed = false; return temp; } everything began fine. Tell me smbody what's the problem? Is this the VS7 problem or its my problematic code.

    Window redraw

Just in case, you should also right-click your desktop, select Properties, Appearance, Effects, and make sure "Show window contents while dragging" is on. But if that checkbox is unchecked, I want my window to be redrawn not depending on it. It's your app. But if that box is not checked it's probably because the user has a slow machine and can't really do this sort of thing and look good anyway. Going out of your way to ignore user settings is usually not the best course. Winamp ignores. I want the same sort of thing, Winamp does.

    How to force window to redraw & show its contents when moving? Like Winamp has, for example.
  9. I want to implement an allocator for the list to use some piece of my code in element destructor. I mean, I want to run my code when allocator runs destroy() for the list element. I have tried to inherit default allocator, but I can't execute my method destroy(pointer) case its not virtual in base class. Any solvements? Or maybe I need to write whole allocator? Or best: how to implement my task?
  10. How to put a macro into a namespace? E.g. I want to access a macro like std::MyMacro;
  11. Having problems w/ read-only edits and XP styles. The edit control is drawing bad or is drawn w/out no updating.
  12. How to force application to use XP styles in run-time? I mean, if I press a button than XP styles are turned off/on.
  13. Is it valid to put critical sections in this code: delete pObject; pObject = NULL; Would this increase security?
  14. How to destroy (or maybe, close) modeless dialog box?
  15. How to copyright freeware? Or maybe there are some other methods?
