Playing arcade games - business write-off?
If you have a small business, even home-based, where part or all of your business is writing game software, can you write off the money you spend in arcades as a business expense, classified as research or something? This is a serious question! ;-)

Actually you can, to a certain extent. For example, you can charge a phone line to your business, but only a percentage of the bill. However, if you have a DSL line, and you''re only using it for your business (ie. it only goes to your office) You can write it off. So, I''d assume you could easily write off video games as "Research" or something .
