Where exactly are the Area Portals stored in the BSP file?

well no one has answered but I''ll post the answer anyway. i think you just have to read in the brushes, and the brushes with the areaportal texture (no extension, just a symbolic name, found in the common folder of quake3 textures) are area portals.

I may be wrong, but I believe the Quake 3 BSP leaf structure has an area portal index

Nope, I''ve done some reading and area portals don''t even seem to be automatically generated...you have to create a brush in gtkradiant with the areaportal (no extension) texture name on it, and then in the brush list any brushes with that texture name are area portals.

at least that''s how i''ve interpreted things
