BREW or J2ME
Hi,
Could someone tell me why he/she would choose J2ME over BREW ? What are each one''s advantages and disadvantages.
Thanks.
I''m not to be trusted. But I say J2ME, for more things support it?!

BREW - more control over the phones features.
J2ME - much larger market and easier to develop for.
Unless I was specifically targetting the US market, where BREW has a very strong showing in the marketplace, I would definitely go the J2ME route, if I had to choose. But I don''t have to choose so I do them both ;p

Hi!
As i know you have to certify brew apps to sell them. And that''s very expensive. If you fail the first certification, you have to pay a second time to get certified the new version.

Yup. So you start off with J2ME. But spend a couple of months getting acquainted with BREW before that, and design the games so that they are as portable as possible. After you make your first few bucks on the J2ME version, start porting.
Also, if you get a good working relationship with a network operator (by adding a couple of really cool J2ME games to their content portfolio), they can help you out with the BREW certification. Some operators can certify BREW apps "locally" (ie, they will only be available on their network), and that can be much cheaper (or even free if they really like you). And that''s a good first step into the BREW world.

Remember Brew True ver 2.0 actually in most cases comes with J2ME installed.. os its kind of a pointless question except for the vendor testing certs costs issue..
Yeah... but if you want to get the most out of your game you''re probably not going to be using that (J2ME on BREW handsets).
