Shape Coordinates
When people want to draw a shape(in OpenGL), do they set down with graph paper to figure out the xyz(used for glVector3f of course), or is there some secret way to do this faster?

Either you can setup a mathematical model for it, and then you plug equations into your engine, or you have to use a 3D modeling software to perform any arbitrary shape.
