From what I've heard, DirectX 3.0 was the latest version that has a working NT version. According to Microsoft, DirectX 6.0 is now incorporated into NT 5.0 and most of it should be backwardly compatible with NT4.0. The Microsoft DirectX website claims DirectX now supports Windows 2000, as well as Windows CE... (reference http://www.microsoft.com/directx/default.asp )

After all, who is going to upgrade to Windows 2000 on their home PC if they can't play most games on it?
