XNA Beta 2

OK, so I've loaded XNA Beta 2 and have got some basic stuff running... but does anyone know if this actually works with the 360 yet? Microsoft mentions lots of things about how it's going to work - but it isn't clear how much is full release only. The help file gives details on uploading to a 360 etc., and downloading the XNA stuff from Xbox Live or whatever it's called... but is this already up and running? Should I be buying myself a present ...?

That's what betas are like. Generally if it is in the beta, it will exist in the release. However, it isn't a final release and they are free to do whatever they want with it.

From the FAQ:
"Microsoft does not release beta software on the Xbox 360 for security reasons. Thanks to the design and implementation of the XNA Framework on both Windows and Xbox 360 however, games developed using the XNA Game Studio Express beta starting August 30th will be easily adapted to run against the Xbox 360 retail console upon availability of the finished tools later this holiday."

No, it isn't already up and running. The best you get is your PC, for now.

Determining if you want to buy yourself a console right now is a personal matter between you and your budget.
