Alpha blending with W-Buffer

I tried to use alfa blending with W-Buffering, but it doesn't work as it was supposed to. It works only if I use grDepthBufferMode(GR_DEPTHBUFFER_DISABLE). (I use GLIDE2x). I messed up somewhere or the Voodoo graphics can't do that ?

P.S. Please excuse my english, if it's bad!

your scene must be correct sorted to use alpha blending. this gets clear if you know the technique behind depth buffering.
