The poster has disappeared without a trace. No new posts or anything have come from that person since that incident occurred and my emails I send him/her go unanswered. I do know that some people have contacted the F.B.I. about it but I haven't heard of anything happening or if that poster is alright.

I thought we were past this? Welles, are you sure you aren't tunabum under another nick? You just joined today.....

It is pretty apparent from the posts that we have already established that Colton no longer has anything to do with the Chaos Engine. He sold it to Troy (and company). Please take your accusations elsewhere. You haven't brought anything new to the arguement. Just more clutter that has no place in this thread. No one in this thread has denied that Colton is a scam artist. The problem is that's a seperate issue from this engine. Start a new thread about Colton if you like, but please stop mentioning him in reference to the Chaos Engine.

I never flamed, I stated a warning.

I can only say this, do YOUR homework as I primarily asked. What you find may shock you.

I wish I could say more, for now I will have to look like a disgruntled customer. The future will tell if I am more than meets the eye.

Thanks for giving this subject the attention it deserves.

I appreciate some of the members coming to our defense. I think all this is a lot more simple than people are making it, but I will give some history as i understand it.

The game Age of Mourning was built using this an earlier version of our game engine and was released around 2-3 years ago. The original owner of that title ran out of money but sold pre orders for Mourning in hope they could use the funds from this to complete the game. I believe the game was at one point live but extremely buggy and so it was short lived. Many people felt ripped off, as they should have and this was the start of bad reputation of the game. Keep in mind, the original funder of the Mourning title was just one person. The Romanian companies that developed the title just developed the title and the engine and it was the sole funder that decided to release the game.

After Mourning proved to be a failure, Colton Burgess and Loud Ant Software bought the game and the engine in an attempt to get the game live again. I know Colton Burgess as I bought all of the assets from him. They tried for a year i believe to get the funding and talent needed to get the funding and they failed. He also got in very heated debates and threatened to investigate and sue a number of people for various things. He was quite the despicable character on the forums. However, to my knowledge he never did anything illegal and in fact would NOT release Thrones of Chaos (the remake of Mourning) because they were never able to finish it. So as much as Colton was a bad guy and completely out of line, I have seen nothing that indicates anything was done illegally. If I wrong here please show me some facts.

We bought bought everything from Loud Ant Software 6 months ago. We knew right off the bat there was no hope for the game Thrones of Chaos. The reputation of this game had been dragged through the mud because of failure of past team to deliver. We decided to break the game apart and sell its only valuable assets, the models.

The engine, which is the reason we bought it in the first place, has been worked on extensively to keep it current.

We are simply behind the engine technology which is a great product. If developers want to buy our product they do a ton of research before doing so. Like i said before, we do not sell our engine for less than 50,000.

It is completely irresponsible and evil to call everyone that has anything to do with this project a scam. It's both sad and comical that a company such as Quad Software has been brought into this. All these companies you portray as frauds with no fact, these people have done nothing wrong.

Tunabun it would be one thing if you did what you did based on facts, but we still haven't seen any. It really is evil, wasting people's time and hurting families.

This is the thread where tunabun and friends discuss he Mourning ordeal:

Troy

Sadly, this is exactly what Colton Burgess said when he convinced mmorpg.com to list Thrones of Chaos. Right down to the sold the assets, 'cause he only wanted the engine part. The similarities are just too many to not have some bearing. The ToC forums were removed, but the main thread for the continuing fiasco is here: http://mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/37720/page/29 I would strongly encourage anyone who doubts the similarities between the post I've just quoted and the statements originally given for listing at mmorpg.com, should contact the management of mmorpg.com and ask. One would be Admin@mmorpg.com
Another brand new member? Will a mod please check the IP addresses of these guys against tunabum's. This is getting ridiculous.

By all means, please do. I have been one of the main people trying to keep Colton from scamming people any further. That is the only reason I even came here. Which is why I pointed out that "Troy" is using the exact same pitch, down to the letter, as Colton did.

I thought I would enlighten the posters here with some of the other reasons why Colton is not to be trusted and what he is fully capable of. No proof has been shown by this Troy in form of documentation that Colton sold him anything. Many posters on mmorpg.com have sent Troy emails requesting this documentation and he has provided nothing to back up his claims. It is thus believed this is nothing but a new trick by Colton. Read though the links I provided if someone would go as far as too hire P.I.s to hunt someone down then a fake sale scam isn't beyond Colton's doing.

I am not tunabun I would of posted under that account if I were. I am also not as careless as tunabun I would never allow any tidbits of my identity to leak for Colton to discover as tunabun has allowed on mmorpg.com.I have followed this drama for sometime now and would like to see an end put to Colton's schemes once and for all.

I just found that out over on the MMORPG forums. We appreciate your vigor at trying to share the truth. The issue is, because of the apparent legitimacy of the software, Troy does not have to show anything to anyone, except for potential customers.

Unless you can prove Troy is an alias for Colton, I don't think we are going to get much farther with this. I fully understand the situation with Colton, and will attack as good as the next man, but I am not fully convinced that Colton still has his hands in this.

In doing my own research, I found:
http://egov.sos.state.or.us/br/pkg_web_name_srch_inq.show_detl?p_be_rsn=1247318&p_srce=BR_INQ&p_print=FALSE
and
http://egov.sos.state.or.us/br/pkg_web_name_srch_inq.show_detl?p_be_rsn=1201099&p_srce=BR_INQ&p_print=TRUE

It appears that Colton does have a hand in Chaos as recent as April of this year, as his name is what appears in the business registration.

Now, to be clear, I am after the truth, and can admit I am wrong when needed. I think we deserve some more explanation from Troy as to why Colton's name is listed on the business license for his company. I am not ready to retract my defense yet, but if I need to, I will. Until then, we still need to stick to what we know, and not just accusations. To give it due dilligence, we are after documented facts. It is obvious that any mention of Colton's name is going to bring up some harsh memories for some. Why else would you have a thread that is 144 pages long? Just to note. The same thread will not repeat here, so watch your conduct.

Thanks for the explanation Welles.
