For the average programmer, no. This paper consists of logics and calc, so may definitely not be invaluable for 'any' game programmer.
Unless 'any' is synonymous with university / calc knowledgeable individual.

I'm a math maniac, I think math has some very important stuff for EVERY game programmer, I even troll with that all the time, BUT I don't really find that stuff um... anything.

The abstract is great: "The self-similar structure of the attracting subshift of a primitive substitution is carried over to the limit set of the repelling tree in the boundary of Outer Space of the corresponding irreducible outer automorphism of a free group."
Someone pass the maple syrup - it goes well with waffles...
Stickmen Wars 2 is in development.
