I asked someone to help me with model attachment, don''t anyone know how to do that? If you got HL, the go to valve\media\previews\media and watch Homeworld movie..... See how their cannons move independanlty of main body? It seems that they DO work indep., so my question is how to do such thing they got there? Use joints or something else? Please help...

I looked at the homeworld move since I got HL :-). I think you are reffering to the turrets on the mini-space ships during hte fight scene. The effect was pretty cool. Thanks for telling me that was there; never knew it existed. I am not really an expert, but my guess would be to either have two or more different models of the same ship and show each model during the firing sequence or have the turrets on the sides be an independent part of the ship class inside the ship class that have the functions move or something like that. Heh, I really don''t know I just threw up some ideas for you. Hope you can get it goin!
Yes, they are independent models (ship and turret), so I want to know how I can attach them where I want to...
E.g I need to find the center of model and attach that to the other model place..
It''s all about matrix concatenations... along with functions like glPushMatrix and glPopMatrix, the effect is pretty easy. Read a tutorial on matrix math and hierarchial models for more info.
Where? Link?
