even Fox reported (in 2010) that permission was sought on the day to bring it down using controlled demolition

If FOX News report something, it should instantly be disregarded as fiction unless we have very good reason to believe otherwise :)

Isn't FOX the fine bastion of reliable reporting that brought us such wonderful tidbits like the 'fact' that the space shuttle re-enters the earth's atmosphere at several times the speed of Light.

Accuracy and fact checking aren't exactly their strong suits.

A common reverse-engineered motive is that most of the paper evidence against Enron (including their dealings with the Taliban) were destroyed by the collapse.

Shredder. This thing could clean up library of congress in a weekend. And it can be done conveniently by one single person over a few nights inside a broom closet.

You know, as to not attract one billion eyes and 50,000 cameras to the process. A common requirement when trying to hide something.

----

And now, for something completely different:

Let's assume this was a conspiracy. You win. Now what?

Government falls? Ok. Since it was republican government it's replaced by democrats. With no opposition, unless you count independents.
The one-armed man is convicted, hanged, etc... - Well, it happened with Bin Laden, people partied, then had to go to bed since they had work in the morning.
US falls apart? This would go under "incompetence vs. malice". I mean, let's blow things up so that we weaken our global position cannot be a good plan.
People take control. Read youtube comments. Do you really want populace to be in control.
Key conspiracy investigators take control. These are people who have been studying 4 frames of JFK killing for 30 years. In what way would they be qualified for anything?
"Well, there goes our past time. But look, Jersey Shore is on" - probably the best outcome of all.

If you'd get the same "benefits", why didn't the terrorists/super-secret-Illuminatists do that then, eh?

Benefits are relative. The benefits to some illuminati-esque organization are not the same as benefits to terrorists. You know this. Stop trolling.
Maybe the economic damage was a "benefit"? Who says it's "your nation" to the conspirators anyway? tongue.gif
You said that. You pointed out people you believed to be potential conspirators, most of whom were americans or had economies closely tied to the american economy.

We all know they meant in relation to this My link
A sufficiently well planned attack could lead to the WTC collapse exactly like what we saw happen with our own eyes. You may choose to argue the result was unplanned, but it doesn't change the possibility that it could have been.

What does it matter if it was a conspiracy? I am not sure, I wonder if the German citizens of Nazi Germany could provide us with insight to what it matters to be duped into supporting a government committing a holocaust.

One would assume that if the SEC's files were shredded, they'd notice. If the motive was to destroy evidence, then obviously they'd want to remove all evidence of them shredding evidence! duh.
Let's assume this was a conspiracy. You win. Now what?
What makes you think I'm trying to win you over with alternative conspiracy theories? I thought I was fence sitting to play both sides here... Besides answering conspiracy related questions directed at me, I've only asked a few reasonable questions about weird fox reporting, unexplained discrepancies (the 9.8m/s wtc7 detail) and sought what I should be looking for in footage of demolitions.

People take control. Read youtube comments. Do you really want populace to be in control.
If we're assuming malice and perfect planning over incompetance, then -- democrats/republicans are both run by your choice of illuminati type groups (that part's true -- not that these groups are the illuminati, but that members of exclusive clubs and think-tanks often form the heads of government - dun dun dah), who are all working towards the downfall of the US, or whatever -- weakening the state is obviously part of their plan to form a NWO. Since the attacks, the world has become much more authoritarian, so obviously reducing the power of the people was a clear motive, and seeing as world governments are all run by illuminati puppets, the people didn't even have any control beforehand. The point of unveiling the conspiracy would be to restore democracy to "democratic" governments, or something.

Fun?
You pointed out people you believed to be potential conspirators, most of whom were americans or had economies closely tied to the american economy.
I did? Are you counting farcical stories of unnamed super-secret-societies or aliens - I don't believe I've named anyone else as a potential conspiritor?
Benefits are relative. The benefits to some illuminati-esque organization are not the same as benefits to terrorists.
Who's to say super-secret-illuminati types don't want to inflict financial damage? Plus the spectacular collapse of the towers is a huge "benefit" for anyone wanting to create a massive psychological impact. Whether or not they're "the" terrorists, they'd still be terrorists for carrying out such a plan, right?
The sad thing is that the more fervent the debate over the cause of a terrible event, the less focus is given to the victims. Perhaps you could argue that "the truth" is somehow of benefit to the victims, but no amount of truth can bring back a dead husband, wife, father, or mother.

Its a bit like when Israel and Palestine have yet another war. The first few times it happened I got upset, but I soon grew out of it and realized that this was the MO for those people - I began to experience compassion fatigue. Likewise, the more I hear people arguing over who the culprits of 9/11 are, the less I care about the causes.

I should feel sad whenever the anniversary of 9/11 comes around but instead I feel guilt, because this is when all the different theories begin to bounce around, and I just feel annoyed and find it impossible to feel any form of compassion.

Sometimes, I wish people would just shut the fuck up and show some respect.
