For some reason, there are various comment threads where I can rate some users comments, but not others. For example:

You'll notice that no rating up/down arrows appear next to Telastyn's post, even though I haven't rated it. I can however rate Azh321's post without issue...

Any idea what's up with this?

Related to that, you can't subscribe to a journal post for comment notifications. This is one of my major gripes with the new Journal-centric vision of the site.

Agreed. In fact this has been a gripe of mine for like 6 years now. I once asked Superpig for the ability to bookmark journal posts on the old site so I could track comment replies and I didn't describe the feature well enough for him and he made it so you could bookmark journals for new entries - then we never got around to getting it right.

Furthermore something weird I just noticed is that I remembered "watching" a journal entry once, and indeed when I look at my Watched Content page under Journals I do see the entry and it gives the number of comments but no way to tell without remembering how many comments there were last time I checked if anything new was added to the entry. I set the entry notification option to "immediate" and then made sure my notification settings in my options were enabled for journal updates and proceeded to add comments and edit the journal entry and got no notification.

Furthermore I can't figure out how to "watch" individual entries anymore looking at the current entry pages and forget how I went about it that one time.

Also, when looking at Tristam's journal to see if I could "watch" an individual entry I found two comments in this post that can also not be voted on or profiled.
