Hello everyone!!! I am new in OpenGl Programming and I essencialy use linux for my code in OpenGl... I was wondering... is there any library or something like that for using maya, 3d Studio, blender, etc... models in our programs? A library tha can get an object from a 3D editor basically... Hope you can help... Tkx Miguel

Yes usualy each package has it own libs and toolkits for allowing you to load their file formats for your app. Usually this requires you to own the 3000$ or so software or cr**k it etc...

If not go to www.gametutorials.com go to the tutorials section. There ar tuts for 3DS, ASE and OBJ. The only prob is they are all 3DS MAX formats.

OBJ isn''t a 3D Studio Max format. It was originally made by WaveFront, and just happens to be supported by a large amount of modeling software. Another common format is DXF, which was originally used by AutoCAD.

oppsy, so now you can loas file from 2 dif packages if you follow the tutorials
