I'm having trouble modeling and texturing for a particular model. I need advice on how to proceed.
With all the trim and color, I don't know whether or not to model the trim and create a texture for the color or create a texture map and includes all the detailed trim (cummerbund/drop, trim, silver balls). I've seen that done, but I'm not a 3D modeler, so I don't know that much about sculpting models. Can anyone give me advice on this and tell me how to start?
Those videos, combined with the videos on Blender Cookie, will give you more than enough info to start using Blender pretty quickly. Be warned, though; they're long videos and Blender takes a lot of patience to learn!
