I still like Tribelands or Tribal Lands. I think the former is a little crisper since it drops a syllable. Keeping "lands" invokes the control or movement over territory, as well as hinting at some sort of community.
Yeah... I'm almost 100% sure I'm going to go with Tribelands unless someone else can persuade me otherwise.
Are there other Tribes in it, or just the one you are part of? That name sounds like there will be lots of Tribes, and maybe combat/competition between them, so if those aren't parts of your design you might want to consider that. Other options could be Survival Lands, Survivalands or Settlement (maybe some derivative of this word to stop it sounding too much like Settlers).
After a long discussion with my team, I decided to go with "Homestead: Survive and Settle". It fits the game more and feels more like The Oregon Trail.
Is that decided then?
IMO "Survive and Settle" sound a little too generic, and people tend to cut names anyway (specially after Name: surnames - the surnames just get cut)
following on that, the word Homestead makes me think of something peaceful and not about survival. something like a game like Harvest Moon, or maybe the Skrim DLC's Hearthfire, not something like yours is.
Tribal Lands or Tribelands seems better IMO, though might seem misleading because of the "lands" (makes me think of a game where you fight for territory as an RTS or top-down simulation). so what about Tribeland?
I made this half finished broken survival game named settle and survive in roblox (block building game with scripting)
I think it sounds better than survive and settle but im not native speaker so i dont know. Would that work?
Heh, I actually came across that Roblox map when I was searching it. Im actually using Settle and Survive instead-- I just messed it up when I was typing it here.
