Hello, I'm Sindre.

I came up with this great idea to draw peoples attention to Linux, what is this great idea you might ask?
Well, it's a community driven sandbox game.

I think EVERYONE has played Minecraft, or at least heard about it, and what made it so popular? MODS! There's lots of mods out there, and new ones are developed daily. Item mods, game mechanic mods, even shader mods! WE made the game!
So what is stopping us to develop our own game? NOTHING!

By adding everything into the game(please do not add something abusing of some sort), rather than splitting it into different mods, we allow for compatibillity and co-operation between developers. (The only thing we do not allow, is destroyment and removement of others contribution. Use common sense )

- Want to add a new gamemode? Go ahead!
- How about better AI? Go ahead!
- Want to add better graphics? Go ahead!
- Want to port it? Go ahead!
- Feel that something is broken? Go ahead, fix it!

I want to turn this project into a huge community of developers, testers and others. So go ahead and tell your friends, developer or not, everyone is welcome, and do not forget to leave a comment down below to show your interest and to help setting up everything to get it started! (Remember, the larger we get, the quicker we can start )

Thanks

PS: The name could be "DohPic", as in "Doh, just picture it!" if that made sense
Then you do not have to pay anything to get started, also because I don't know what I should use this website for xD

Depending on what language the game is going to be written in, I'm interested. If it's Java then hell yeah!

Also, Java is heavily supported on Linux.

Well, I was thinking c++ for low RAM usage, but if most of you want to do it in Java then we could do that.

Seeing that there's a lot of Minecraft modders out there, they'll probably be more interested to do it in Java, rather than c++ :)

EDIT: That quote system is bugged :/
