I am using MingW to develop my game. Originally, I used Microsoft Visual Express, but now I use a MinGW Makefile project.

 

I still have vcredist_x86.exe in my distribution, but is it needed anymore? The name implies that it would only be needed for "VC".

It's the runtime library for Visual C++ programs that dynamically link to the runtime library. It's not needed anymore.
