For the record - went ahead and advised Emily to throw the post into the lounge based on previous threads of this nature being in that forum -- so if blame gets applied....It was all Cornstalk's fault :)

oh and we really do need to change to the moderator title in the top members sections to something less confusing for the new folks.

I figured it was along those lines which is why I pm'd Emily to answer your question in her own words as to how she came to the conclusion I was a mod. Definitely the top member section was the root cause and then Cornstalk's icon placed the last breadcrumb on the trail to me.

This problem would be resolved if we just gave EVERYONE moderation powers. What could possibly go wrong?

This reminds me of how some of the conversations/topics made over the now defunct Google Wave went with my friends. The timeline (rewind or whatever, equivalent of 'History' here on these forums) feature didn't help much either.
