I would try it if you showed a tutorial that started with a model in fbx format. What can be done with a model that doesn't have animation?

You can import a model in fbx format to 3DMax and then export it to Ogre3D format. Also you can try a direct converter http://www.ogre3d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=71332 (I cannot recommend as have not tried it). If model does not have animations you will get a single sprite sheet. Plan is to provide wizards which will help to build sprite sheets from different models (multiple animations in single sheet, multiple static model sprites in single sheet).

A new version has been released. Now it can create sprite sheets for multiple models with multiple actions/animations. Also it generates a test preview web page.
